Hi! I'm Mel, pet and portrait photographer based in the Pacific Northwest. I am typically available within 40 miles of Seattle or Bainbridge Island, WA., although I often travel around the Northwest (particularly to the Puget Sound Islands, Bellingham, San Juan Islands, Port Townsend, and to Bend and Portland OR.) so contact me with availability inquiries. I specialize in natural light photography and shoot on-location.
FAQs
General Questions
Do you have a studio?
I do not. I conduct all photo shoots in public spaces and private venues. I have a list of favorite shooting locations, but am happy to accommodate your requests!
What happens after I contact you?
I will respond to you within 2 business days and set up a brief consult (no charge, up to 15 mins.) to discuss your photo needs, answer any questions, outline my process and we'll go from there.
Can I reschedule?
Yes. I can work with you to find an alternate date. Cancellations are considered on an individual basis.
What are your COVID-19 protocols?
I am fully vaccinated and still continue to mask indoors and sometimes even outdoors. I am not requiring clients to wear masks. I do ask that if you have COVID or associated symptoms that you let me know and we can reschedule.
What happens if it rains?
Bring a rain jacket! In the event of heavy rain, snow, smoke, high wind or other major natural phenomenon we can find an alternate date.
I have a disability, can you accommodate me?
Yes! Let me know what your needs are during our consultation and I will provide an accessible space for the photo shoot.
Do you only photograph pets and portraits?
I also photograph food + beverages, as well as business branding and real estate. For inquiries about commercial or business photography contact me here.
Pet Portrait Questions
What do I need to bring?
You may bring any of your pet's favorite toys, treats, or outfits if you'd like, but I will be prepared with everything we need.
Can I be in the photos?
Yes! Your pets will be the focus of the shoot, but I'm happy to incorporate you into the shots.
Is there anything you don't photograph?
Actually yes, I do not take photos involving the sale of animals used for entertainment (e.g. horse or dog racing), or other commercial uses such as fur or factory farming, or promotion of such activities.
